Welcome to SimsTR.. 

If you would like to share your designs in our site, we would be glad.. 

But in order to fit legal circumstances, you must follow some rules to open a topic.

First of all, SimsTR is a "Policy Friendly" site, which means we respect artist/site policies, we don't publish content if the owner doesn't want it to be published, included in a sim/lot, in another site.

1 - All content should be unique and credited correctly.

* Please note that only content with high quality will be moved to own categories, otherwise your content will be kept in "Your Creations" area. And you must obey the following rules or your topic might be deleted.
* Your sims shouldn't be based on other sims. You have to create them from stratch.
* You may put recolors/retextures of hair, eyes, skin, clothing as long as the original creator allows it.
* You must credit stuff you use on your sims and houses.
* Your sims and houses shouldn't contain paid / donation items on them.
* You may use donation hair or donation clothing in the photos of your sims, but you shouldn't include in your packages.
* Please don't use many different clothing and hair on a single sim.

TOPIC FORMAT:

* Detailed Pics of the content / sim / lot. Try to post images of size 800x600. Images should be high quality or they won't be approved.
* Credits - See the details, below..
* Download Link in the following format. Please only use this button, http://www.simstr.com/dwn.png

* You must create an account and upload your content to www.4shared.com We prefer it as it keeps your content up for a long time and as long as you login or content is installed they won't be deleted.

CREATING CREDITS:

** You must check POLICIES of Artists before publishing. Some artists doesn't allow content to be included in sims or lots. You may check policies from their own sites, or from those lists of Sims2Cri, policies of sites, policies of artists here. (Download the Excel or PDF file for list)

** You may exclude items which are not allowed using Sims 2 Pack Clean Installer.. http://sims2pack.modthesims2.com/

As many of the creators want a link back in credits, you must prepare your credits in the following format. We don't allow snapshots from Sims2Pack Clean Installer, as some details can not be seen there and there is no links..

** For big sites like MTS, TSR, you must link to artists own profile page or the topic itself.

Greetings from America

Hi, I only have a few questions at the moment concerning uploading houses (lots). I have read over the information you posted for uploading requirements and one of my questions is this, do I have to open another account with the website you mentioned? I already have an account on Mediafire and I noticed that a lot of your downloads use them as a mirror site.

Another is that I already have approximately 26 houses uploaded ( I could live without one or two of them - they aren't the greatest LOL ) to 2 other websites - http://socialsims.net and http://sims3communitry.de - I use the same screen name on both sites and have pretty much the same houses on both. A lot of my houses do contain custom content but I also try to list out all of the custom content I used and from what website that it comes from - and it is only their free items that I use and not the pay for / donation items. My houses vary from Victorian type houses to typical middle American houses, not the newer modern ones, but those that have been around for 25 to 50 yrs or so. I even have a hotel and a old Doctor's Clinic + home, and a couple um.. well.. I don't know how to describe them, they're a little strange - one is a single lot with 2 homes...

Here's a couple examples of my houses:

Whippet Kennels - the largest lot I have made (note: this house does come with 2 cars and a motorcycle   )




GrandView Hotel - this one replaces a TS3 game house on the Riverview world




Green Acres - this is one of those.. strange lots I've made. It's a single lot with 2 houses - the one on the left is the only house you can use - other is just decoration



Bobo's Retreat - this is my only modern type house - completely built over a pond with fish, I made this for the main Admin/owner of Sims3 Community




These last 2 are of the same house, I call it Old Doc Holliday's House. The second picture is of a hidden basement medical room that is in the house - this house has a lot of custom items (I do not even want to know what he did down there! LOL) :

Hi Ekinege,

please do not worry about English, if you write in your native language I can use Google Translate to read it - there maybe errors but I can get through those, I post a lot on the German site Sims 3 Community and go through this all the time.

I hope people will have fun with what I make, that is the reason I make them - if I can bring fun and happiness to others by what I do, then I am happy.

Hi Santori, welcome to our forum.

You can show us your homes on our forum and open new title on forum but you can't use every free custom content in your homes. you should obtain permission from custom content creators to use free contents. Ekinege will help you to create credits.

I appreciate all that you've said.

The authors or creators of the custom items, all that I've downloaded, say that it's ok to use their items but do not upload the item to the specific website that you are uploading your lot to, instead give them credit and provide a link back to where I obtained the items. This I always try to do, I do have a couple items that I need to find out where I obtained them, they do not show in the pack cleaner who made them or from what website they came from - so these I try not to use.

If you were to go to this Sims site: http://www.socialsims.net and then under my same screen name that I use here, click on any of the houses I have listed there and you will see that this is what I have done with the custom items.  Part of being an "artist" if this is what you wish to call it, is that even though I only make houses if I use items that were made by other artists, I must respect their requests and I hope someone would do of mine, it is only proper.   

I'll get a few of my old houses - the first few I made and then try posting them to see if I'm doing things the right way so that I can get to know how to do it properly as per your directions for posting.

Hi I'm back again. If someone could send me a private message and explain and help me with this I would appreciate it. I have approximately 30 houses that I could setup for here but I am still a little bit confused about exactly how to post them. I have looked at the sample you gave me above and I can see how it is but the requirement for the link icon and then the link pages, this I do not understand. My images I can format into any size needed, it is no problem and I understand you said that Mediafire was ok for my download site, I have about 1/3 of my houses there and I can upload those that are not there with no problem.

Do you mean you don't know how to put the download link icon? If you mean it, you do it like this:
About the other links, you just put the links of the things that you used in your house, if they are donation, don't include them in your house's pack. You just give the legal website's link and write 'donation' near it =)
For example:
- Livingroom set *link*
- Bedroom set *link* **DONATION**
=)
